AI Chat: Time Awareness

Introducing time awareness in AI Chat.

So far, you’ve been chatting in limbo: the AI not quite knowing when you sent the messages–which is awesome if you’re roleplaying scenarios where you want to advance the play and don’t actually want to wait days.

But it’s not always ideal if the AI doesn’t know that the 30-minute task they gave you in chat was done in under a minute; or if the AI still thinks it’s Sunday morning on a Wednesday afternoon.

The (optional) Time Awareness setting changes this. With this setting enabled, the AI knows exactly when each message was sent and what time it currently is.

This option can be changed at any time (even during an ongoing session) in the “Your introduction & preferences” sidebar menu.

Existing AI Chat users start with this setting disabled.

New AI Chat users have this setting enabled by default.

We suggest disabling this feature if you’re roleplaying a scenario where you want to “manually” advance time. For example “Okay, it’s now the next day…” even though you don’t actually want to wait till the next day.

We suggest enabling this feature for a more natural, real-life conversation where you plan to do everything you talk about, and do not wish to include any extreme roleplaying elements that would require you to “manually” skip time in the story.

Have fun! :)
